Tax credit for uninsured medical expenses
In Quebec, if you have paid medical expenses exceeding 3% of your income or that of your spouse and if you meet the conditions provided by Revenu Quebec, you are entitled to a non-refundable tax credit. You are entitled to tax credits for medical expenses based on your income. In order to maximize your tax credit, carefully plan the chosen period and concentrate your medical expenses during this period. You must enclose receipts justifying these expenses with your declaration.
When medical expenses are reimbursed by a private insurance plan, the portion of the expenses not reimbursed entitles you to a tax credit.
- Consult the list of medical expenses that qualify for the amount for medical expenses or the refundable tax credit for medical expenses in Quebec.
In Canada, there is also a non-refundable tax credit for medical expenses.

Your insurance reimbursements
Your insurance plan is negotiated between the insurance company and your employer or yourself. A claim is sent to your insurance so that you can obtain reimbursement under your plan. If your insurer and your dentist use the Dentaide service for payment, your dentist must then collect the fees not covered by your insurance plan to act in accordance with his code of ethics. At the Aldente Dental Health Center we use the Dentaide service.
Some contracts provide for reimbursements based on the ACDQ Fee Guide, but not necessarily that of the current year. You are responsible for fees not paid by your insurance.
Out of respect for you, for his code of ethics and for his profession, your dentist charges the same fees to all his clients, insured or not.

Appointment Cancellation and Lateness Policy
The entire team at Aldente works hard to meet your appointment times. This is why we ask our clients to be as on time as possible for their appointments so as not to shift the time of subsequent appointments. Indeed, it is not always possible for us to readjust the length of appointments to accommodate the delay of a patient. In the case of delays of more than 15 minutes, it is possible that the dentist or the hygienist postpone the session to a later date.
Canceled or missed appointments are a major problem for any dental clinic. The operating rooms are prepared according to the treatment that will be provided there and the space granted to a client in the schedule is entirely reserved for him. That’s why we ask customers to book their appointment during a time slot that is unlikely to change, and to notify us at least 48 hours in advance of any cancellations and/or changes.
Dental tourism
More and more customers are traveling abroad to receive dental care.
We are of the opinion that the client is not always able to assess the quality of care provided outside of Canada.
We have the opportunity to occasionally meet clients who have received such care. The quality of the latter is unfortunately very variable and some materials used do not comply with Canadian standards.
There are basic precautions to take before deciding to embark on a dental tourism trip. In the event of a health problem following the treatments (infection, for example), it could be difficult to file a complaint against the treating dentist, to obtain compensation or additional care. Canadian / Quebec laws do not apply, you will have to deal with the authorities of the country in question.
In certain situations, the Quebec dentist is not able to perform a good follow-up of the care provided abroad. For example, in the case of restorations on implants, the replacement of parts can be difficult because of their unknown origin or because of the impossibility of obtaining them in Quebec.
