Balancing the occlusion with the T-SCAN
The T-SCAN is an analysis device for the contact points when your upper and lower teeth are in occlusion. T-SCAN is a technology that determines the order of appearance of contacts between teeth. It also detects the intensities of the forces exerted by the different movements of your jaw.
The consequences of an occlusal imbalance?
Occlusion is the way the dental arches meet when you bite together. Optimally, all of your teeth should come into contact with each other in balance.
An imbalance of occlusion can quickly and prematurely deteriorate your teeth, causing headaches, jaw pain, neck pain and back pain. Additionally, some of the problems that can result from poor bite are:
- Damaged fillings
- Fractured teeth
- Receding gums and/or mobile teeth
- Pain in the teeth, muscles and jaw joint
- Teeth clenching at night
- Increased headache and neck pain
- Tooth wear and sensitivity
The advantages of T-SCAN
The device makes it easier to visualize the interference of the teeth, to rebalance the chewing forces and to regain muscle comfort.
It can be used in orthodontics, in adjustment of certain occlusal plates, for a better adaptation of your dental prostheses or to precisely adjust your prostheses on implants.
