Invisalign invisible orthodontics
Are there other treatments than braces to correct crooked teeth? Yes!
Our clinic offers the new Invisalign® technology which allows certain types of problems to be treated without using visible braces. It is now possible to have straight teeth without metal!
Invisalign is comfortable and does not interfere with your daily life. The visits will be every month or every two months to check the progress of the treatment and to obtain new aligners.
The average duration of treatment is about one year. Since the gutters are removable, nothing prevents you from enjoying your favorite meals and you can also brush your teeth and gums to have a healthy mouth.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign treatment is a breakthrough technology (early 2000s) that uses a series of clear plastic shells (aligners) to give you the smile you’ve always wanted. This technology was developed in collaboration with orthodontists. It uses extremely sophisticated three-dimensional computer technology to gradually move your teeth according to a plan tailored to you.
Is Invisalign right for you?
Invisalign treats a range of orthodontic problems, ranging from minor tooth movements to the most complex cases. Whatever the problem, you’ll get a new, more harmonious smile that you’ll want to show off to everyone.
Here are some of the dental alignment issues that can be treated with Invisalign :
- Teeth can overlap when there is simply not enough room in your jaws for them to fit normally.
- Teeth are gapped when you have too much space in your jaw.
- A crossbite occurs when the jaws occur when the upper and lower jaws are not properly aligned. In this case, it is common for one or more upper teeth to “bite” on the inside of the lower teeth, and this can occur on the front and/or sides of the mouth.
- An overbite occurs when the upper teeth significantly overlap the lower teeth.
- An underbite occurs when the lower teeth are in front of the upper teeth, and is usually caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both.
How is an Invisalign® treatment performed?
We will prescribe the desired dental movements to the Invisalign® manufacturer who will manufacture the aligners (gutters) required to make the desired corrections
- you will wear each aligner for approximately 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink and clean your teeth;
- as you change one set of shells or aligners to the next, your teeth will gradually move, week by week, until they reach their corrected final position;
- the average duration of an Invisalign® treatment can vary from 8 to 15 months depending on the complexity of the case;
- during treatment, you will see your doctor approximately every 6 to 8 weeks to ensure that the treatment is progressing well.
Note that not all cases can be treated with this type of device, but if you are interested in this technology, ask us if you are a good candidate for Invisalign® treatment. .
