The Aldente Dental Center brings to dentistry the newest cone beam imaging device: the iCat Scan.<\/h2>\n

Our dentists can now maximize the effectiveness of their expert training with state-of-the-art X-ray equipment. The three-dimensional images of the iCat Scan make it possible to visualize the complete anatomy of the teeth and the temporomandibular joints, in relation to the spine. Thanks to the advanced functions of the iCat Scan, our dentists can, if necessary, recreate 3D virtual models on site or isolate certain anatomical parts. They can thus make diagnoses relating to the sinuses, the teeth or the bone morphology.<\/p>\n

Born from the very latest technology, the iCat Scan emits far less radiation than conventional scans and does not cause any image distortion (like panoramic x-rays do). The X-ray taken in just twenty seconds provides the expert dentist with an image rich in information. The latter can then send the data to the referring dentist, and even then have it analyzed by a radiologist if he wishes!<\/p>\n

Why 3D radiography<\/h2>\n

To plan the installation of dental implants, it is often necessary to obtain additional information that is unfortunately not available with traditional 2D X-rays, such as:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • The amount and density of alveolar bone in all three dimensions (height, width and depth).<\/li>\n
  • The position and anatomy of the maxillary sinuses for implants in the upper jaw.<\/li>\n
  • The precise position of the inferior alveolar nerve for implants in the lower jaw.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

    How it works?<\/h2>\n

    When the X-ray machine’s sensors finish acquiring data, the data is then routed to a computer that includes software that helps compile and reconstruct data to produce the various views available. This same software also provides access to a multitude of features and tools that the dentist can use to study the data collected and plan implant surgery. A single three-dimensional X-ray can generate hundreds of images.<\/p>\n
